Emigration records
 
This is new territory for me and I would be grateful for any help.

I know that William Grimshaw and his new wife Margaret went to the USA after May 1841 but before 1843. They returned at some point before 1847. I am wondering if they took anyone else with them (Grimshaws or Stewarts).

I think they left from Liverpool although they were from the Isle of Man..Are there any records of passengers as early as the 1840s please?

I don't think there will be emigration records from the UK for that date, but I have found this on the US immigration records:

New York, Passenger and Crew Lists
arrival New York 5 Jul 1842 on the "Normandie" from Liverpool
William Grimshaw 26 Male Farmer origin Ireland, destination New York
John Stewart 24 dittos
Margeret Grimshaw 20 Female Wife Do Do.
