mother of Richard Ashton who was born in c1822 in Pewsey Wiltshire.

Does Ms Ashton have a husband and an occ for that husband? (maybe from son's marriage cert).

Merry 25-11-10 19:06

Do you think she is Sarah Ashton who appears aged 71 (wid) in 1851 in Pewsey and in 1841 is aged 60 and with Richard Ashton aged 20?

There's a thread about Richard on TO2G, Merry, and when that was posted, Rosie hadn't managed to find his marriage so didn't have his father's details. There is also another possible on the 1841 (from that thread):

Thanks Kate. I was obviously following the wrong Richard as I couldn't understand why his marriage was so difficult (I had two marriages lined up). I guess I was more likely to be following Sarah's son as he was older than Rosie's Richard.

hello ladies, sorry I haven't been on all day but I've been busy fussing around OH with it being his birthday :)

I've got a feeling that Richard never married Martha (or that they married in NI).

I'm not sure about the 1841 Ashons.... who knows. I think the only was to find out about R's parents is a trip to Wiltshire RO.
