Fold3 Record Help Please

Hi All,

I have just discovered that my 2nd great uncle Joseph Wood was killed during World War 1. I have found a few records of him including one that requires a Fold3 sub which I don't have. Is there anyone that does have a sub that could open the record for me? Here is the link:

Thank you
Claire

Are you able to visit an LDS Family History Centre because they have free access on site to Fold3?

There's access to some documents for this Joseph Wood on FMP. One of them does mention his mother, but I didn't think it was the same doc as the one on Fold 3. Perhaps you could check whether anything you have already mentions Elizabeth Chryst?

Hi Nicki/Merry

No, I can't get to an LDS centre unfortunately :(

I had looked straight on FMP to compare the records of both and I have found some on there that Ancestry also had, but they didn't have this record. I hadn't known that Joseph had been killed in WW1 until last week. He was one of Elizabeth's sons to her first marriage.

I am really unsure whether I need a Fold3 subscription just for this one record. I am not sure how much use it would be for other research.

It's really annoying that Fold3 don't do pay-as-you-go credits. But once in a while they have a free access weekend, so maybe just wait till the next one of those?

I think I will have to wait for a free access weekend as you suggest Kate. I am really frustrated that we have to have separate subs for Fold3, even more so when I pay a fortune each year for my world sub.
