Hi Margaret, yes, you're right, I should get the marriage cert.
His wife appears in the 1891 census as a widow.

Try as I might I can't find his death for certain. Can't find them in 1861 either. I've checked Ancestry and FMP.

I know, I've searched all possible spellings, but have never found them either.
Haven't been able to find them in 1841 and Elizabeth in 1851 either, they're very good at hiding. lol
