Take one 2xGreat-Grandparent week 7 26 Feb - 4 Mar 2010

This week, we are focussing on your Father's mother's mother's mother .

If you want to take part, just start a new thread on this board and put your 2x-great-grandmother's name in the Title. If you don't know her name then put whatever you like in the title!

Copy the following form and fill in the answers that you already have, then over the course of the next week you try to fill in the blanks and everyone else helps you. If you're lucky enough to have all the information already, then you can still post it up if you want, so that search engines can pick it up. Or use your partner's 2x-great-grandmother instead.

Can you fill in all of the following information about that person:

Name - "official" name and what they were known as
Date and place of birth
Names of parents
Date and place of baptism - if applicable
Details of each of his or her marriages - if any
Occupation(s) - if any
Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on.
Date, place and cause of death
Date and place of burial / cremation.
Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable
Memorial inscription - if any

Adoptive or step-2x-great-grandparents welcome!
Can each person please just post up one thread - either your own 2x-great-grandparent or your partner's.

If you're lucky enough to have all the information already, then you can still post it up if you want, so that search engines can pick it up.

I have noticed there's a lot of Mary/Mary Anns this week :)

I noticed that too, and wondered if any were called Polly ?

I have loads of Marys and Mary Anns in my tree, and so far I haven't come across Polly being used as a nickname for them (although I know it used to be quite common). Nobody calls me that either, thankfully :)

I don't know about most of my Mary Mary/Ann ancestors but I do know that my grandmother's youngest sister Mary Ann was always called Polly up until she was in her 20's when she decided she didn't like it and insisted that she were called Mary which everyone adhered to except my grandmother who always called her Polly.

My grandmother was Mary Ellen and she was always Polly.
