Thanks, Macbev.
I'm transcribing the will of his mother. They are an interesting family. Any indication of when he emigrated? They can't agree on his age, which is understandable, I suppose. One report said he was 88. |

Thanks, that was the son mentioned who was a chemist.
I love the entry about the dog. I wonder if he was retrieved. |
Just adding in bits and pieces as I find them.

Thanks, Letitia and Parminter are family names. William had a brother called Parminter and it was his mother's maiden name.
|
I think I saw Letitia on the 1851 census, but not her brother. Getting late here, so I'll have another look tomorrow. Do you know if the mother died before the emigration? At least, if the family went to S.A. we know they were not transported.

Macbev, your help is much appreciated.
William Harris Cardell didn't marry until 1841, in his late 40s. I didn't think it was him at first. His bride was Caroline Augusta Hempel. |
Letitia and Charles were baptised at Probus, Cornwall in 1841 and 1843 respectively.
Both William and Caroline were from well-to-do families. |
