Familysearch

I haven't used this site for a long time but for the last two evenings have spent hours trying to access some information I had from there many years ago. I did print off the info at the time but that print is now buried in my daughter's attic!

Basically, I am trying to access the Scottish census 1861. I finally found the search page, eventually filled in the details, then was wizzed into a page of random completely irrelevant results from any old census.

Am I missing something? Is there a secret I don't know about?

Does this link work for you:

It looks as if that census can only be accessed at Family History Centres. There's a nasty little lock by the image symbols.

Oh, Thank you Phoenix. Why didn't it say that on the introductory page, grr..

You can search the Scottish censuses for free on Scotland's People. You only have to pay to view the images.

Thanks Kate. I wanted to retrace my research steps but it's really just the reference I need for my records. Off out now but will have a play tomorrow with SP.
