Labourer, carman, scavenger, dust contractor. In fact he was a 'golden dust man' (as in 'Our Mutual Friend') and ran contracts to clean the streets. Also owned a brickfield at Enfield.

Witnesses at his wedding were Henry Harris and Francis (or Frances?) Carrington, if that's any help.

Henry Harris was the bride's father. I don't know who Francis Carrington was, but I just checked and a Francis Carrington married at the same church in 1756.

Too old to be the witness but ...

On the other hand perhaps it's just a coincidence!
