The GRO site shows:

I had assumed - incorrectly - that Edmund and John were twin sons of William Woodyard and Rachel nee Skillings from Edgefield as Rachel was a twin and had triplets. This other family must be around in 1851 at least, but I cannot find it. |
I did have a look but will have another look this morning.

Woodyard is a very common name in Edgefield which is in the registration district of Erpingham where I assume the children were born but none marrying a Willimott.

Oh, the joys of illiteracy.
Here is the marriage of John Woodgett to Hannah Wilmot: in 1829 Briston https://search.findmypast.co.uk/reco...F000304119%2F1 Oh course, by 1851, Edmund Woodyard is down as Edward Woodgett, oh, and Eliza is transcribed as Lydia. https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...53?pId=5082316 And, for the record, Ed in 1891 is Edward Woodgate: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...ue&pId=8772114 |
Thanks for looking, Maggie. I had been convinced that poor Rachel had had several multiple births, but I was completely wrong, and in fact the triplets were live births and although none survived, they were all buried separately, so stronger than you might imagine.
