That's better - the description is loading now. It says that "This information is compiled under licence from the printed parish registers published by the Parish Register Section of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society or the Yorkshire Parish Register Society" and that "Records from various parishes throughout Yorkshire will continually be added to this database for the next couple of months."

So, the images are images of printed transcriptions of the parish registers.

Very odd, I clicked on an image and it sent me to the page to upgrade to Worldwide Membership!

I'm wondering if it is teething trouble, Kate. I'll try tomorrow and see if I get the same result.

It's partly working now; if I put a surname in I get loads of hits, including the parish I'm interested in, but if I add the name of that parish as a keyword it says there are no hits.
