Scotland, Court & Criminal Database - findmypast

I have found someone of interest and clicked to find the details.

You can send for the documents, but the charge is excessive:

"Order a Copy of the Precognition, Trial Papers and Trial Minutes
These records can help you trace your family tree and understand the lives of your ancestors. Order a copy of the Precognition, Trial Papers and Trial Minutes for £45.00. Watch our video to find out what you will receive."

Ouch.

I can see a lot of work is involved but unless it is someone of extreme importance to you, I can't see many people taking up this option.

In the old A2A days, I found a will I desperately wanted, which was being held by a Solicitor in Salisbury. My daughter was working in Salisbury so I sent her round to get a copy. They wanted £165! I said no and was so glad I did, because it later turned up in the records office, cost me nothing to look at and it was useless as well!
