18th Century Occupations in SE Kent?

Does anyone know where I can discover what occupations men may have had to earn a living in Wittesham and Lydd, Kent, England in the 18th Century please?
Lydd in particular was quite marshy, though only about 5 miles from Rye Harbour so possibly there was maritime work.

Other than googling for info, if you can access the parish registers you could look at occupations recorded there (if they are in that period!), or search old newspaper records for information.

Lydd Town Museum might be able to help:

Thank you for the suggestion. The Museum is open from March onwards, and there is an address I can write to.
