Rebecca Domoney's parents

Rebecca was baptised in Charlton Marshall Feb 18 1816, daughter of William and Jane Domeny He was a gardener.https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...0059?treeid=&p

According to an online tree, Rebecca is the sister of my ancestor Elizabeth, daughter of William and Jane, bp 15 February 1800 in Iwerne Minster : https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...95/edit/record

But, this is MY William, a bricklayer in Iwerne with 4 children in 1796: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...glish&pId=2733

I think that this is THEIR William: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...5_239624-00453

And this is probably THEIR William's marriage, to Jane Foot in Blandford St Mary in 1808: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...09&pId=2079570

That William dies in Charlton Marshall in 1842, aged 71. (My William is born 1758)

Does this stand up?

Completely. The baptisms for the children of the 1808 Blandford couple begin at the right time. Where's the marriage for your couple?

Here's mine: Jane Oiles or Ayles to William Domoney in 1788 in Iwerne https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...=successSource

Note that he had previously married Hester James, in 1782. She died in 1786.

Several people have taken MY William as being born in 1770, which does mean he was a rather young widower when he remarried in 1788.

Here is the marriage of THEIR William's parents: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interacti...ee54d635a1b046

All sounds good to me.

Thank you, Merry! I don't think I'm up to explaining why their tree is wrong, particularly as they are a DNA match, but at least I have confidence in my tree.
