Hi Sylvia

The 1841 census in High Street, Burton says that he wasn't born in Staffordshire. Very strange as the 1851 says Lichfield doesn't it. 1861 just says Staffordshire very annoying when they do that.
I've never heard of Staley, stated on the 1871, can't find it on a map either.

Ooo, thanks Marg i hadn`t noticed that on the 1841 and i have just found a baptism in Lichfield for him, it annoys me too, when they only put the county on.

The marriage certificate for his second marriage would give you his father's name and occupation.
