place of birth ?

Good Morning
I am helping my locals Landlady with her Familytree
her mum was born 1939 and was one of 16 children
1927
John Larne married Ellen Grant = 16 children ....
she seems to think that the Larne family were Irish extraction .
am I allowed to ask where John Larne was from according to the 1939 survey ?
I believe he was born 1904 in Liverpool -
any help appreciated
thanks :)

1939 doesn't show birthplace, but this is details for him and Ellen:

John Larne 14 Nov 1903 Male Carter Married 189 1
Ellen Larne 16 Jul 1905 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married 189 2

They were at 43 Regent Road and had three children in the household with details redacted.

This is the household in 1911:

Thomas Larne Head Married Male 65 1846 Dock Labourer Unemployed Pembrokeshire South Wales
Catherine Larne Wife Married Female 42 1869 Char Woman Liverpool
David Thomas Larne Son Single Male 16 1895 Boiler Scaler Liverpool
Sarah Ellen Larne Daughter - Female 12 1899 School Liverpool
John Larne Son - Male 7 1904 - Liverpool
Stephen Farrol Vsiter Widower Male 78 1833 Dock Labourer Ireland Visitor

This couple look like possible candidates:

1939 Register:
43 Regent Road, Liverpool

John Larne married dob 14 Nov 1903 occ carter
Ellen Larne married dob 16 Jul 1905 occ unpaid domestic duties

There are three closed records after them and no other open records in their household. This is a lot less than is suggested by the BMD records, though I've not looked to see if any of their children died.

There's this catholic burial in Liverpool:

John Larne
b abt 1904 bur 14 Mar 1963 Ford Cemetery

He died at Sunnybank Nursing Home and is buried in grave DX 14

I agree that the 1904 Q1 birth reg seems to be the only one that fits, though the reg would be slightly late, being a minimum of seven weeks after the birth, if Nov 14 is correct!

lol I was a bit slow, Phoenix!

Thomas and Catherine had been married 23 years and had all their living children with them - 4 had died.

It looks as if Thomas had been in the merchant navy - so may be difficult to find in censuses before 1901.

Ancestry have them mis-spelled in 1901 and Thomas has a different place of birth to 1911:

5 in 1361 Court, Saltney St Liverpool

Thomas Laine 52 coal hewer b Liverpool
Catherine Laine 34
David T Laine 5
Sarah E Laine 2

They were all b Liverpool according to 1901.

I'm not finding a marriage for Thomas Larne.

This might be him in 1861. He's a bit older than expected, but may have lost a few years later, perhaps because his wife was younger:

Thomas Larn parents Thomas and Mary b abt 1840 residence Steynton, Pembrokeshire, Wales relationship Son born Steynton, Pembrokeshire

His father was born in Walton West, Pembrokeshire according to that census.

EDIT - don't think this is him now - see later posts re another family, from Dinas, Pembrokeshire.
