He was buried at Melton Mowbray on 25th June 1855, aged 61.

A Sarah Underwood, presumably his first wife, was buried there on 13th September 1823, aged 26.

There are two Ann Underwoods buried there: one in 1863, abode Leicester, no age given, and one in 1872, age 74, abode Goodricke Street.

Thank you for those Mary, i don`t have a definate 1871 census for Ann Underwood and the 1861 sees her in Leicester St Margaret, so that 1863 one is proberbly hers

I was at one time sending for death certs that were for my direct ancestors that were born before civil registration to give me an idea of birth years, but somehow got waylaid sending for others and these missed out.

That could be confusing, there are 2 deaths listed for Ann Underwood, one in Leicester page 115 and one in Melton Mowbray page 114, but looking at the images for both, they are both Leicester.

No, the Melton Mowbray one is there on the image too but the page number is wrong - it should be 174. I've submitted a correction to FreeBMD but it will take a while to go through.

Thank you Kite, i looked on there and Ancestry, have you any idea which one i would need for Ann Underwood buried in Melton Mowbray abode Leicester.

Think i have answered myself its the Leicester one.
