Japanese POW records.

Japanese POW war records have been added to forces war records. I have not paid to see what details they give but I have an uncle who spent time in Changi Camp after the fall of Singapore.

Anne - my close friend's late father was in Changi & wrote a book about it.

Its called "I Will Remember" & I was so pleased when he presented us with a

copy as he spent many hours discussing his experiences with OH.

My uncle was a pharmacist and spent a lot of time trying to grow herbs to make into medicines. I think he built up quite good relationships with some of the Japanese guards who came to him for medical advice. He died a couple of years ago aged 100. He did not talk about his experiences much and weighed just over six stone when he was liberated.

Forces war records have a competition to win a researcher for a day at the national archives.
