Fab!! Thanks Merry.
I can be sure that my £9.25 won't be wasted. :)

I see Cratfield is on the IGI, but the only bap for a John Flatt is in 1779, so I don't know how comfortable you are with that?!!

Thanks Merry, Where did you find that? I have trouble getting to the place I need to be now that it's only FamilySearch.

I tried going to Europe, UK, GB births & baptisms - but it wasn't there....

EDIT: I just tried through Hugh Wallis and it's working again (I thought it had gone belly up) and found it! Is there any way of seeing the register now?

Not as far as I know.

To look for possible baps on FS I entered John Flatt in the names boxes and then clicked births underneath. In Birthplace I put Cratfield, Suffolk and ticked the exact match box for the place.

I couldn't see any siblings for this John at Cratfield, though there are a few children of people named John and Mary at other Suffolk parishes and some with no parish name on the entry who may be connected.

I uess it would be helpful to know if John b 1779 survived, but I can't see that Cratfield burial records are available anwhere and if his parents moved away that may not help!
