Welsh Parish Registers - ancestry
They are split up by county, the same as on FMP (where they have been available for years). Links below.
As with any new databases on there, you may find you get error messages and need to keep refreshing to get them to come up for a day or two. Anglesey Parish Registers Brecknockshire Parish Registers (aka Breconshire) Caernarvonshire Parish Registers Cardiganshire Parish Registers Carmarthenshire Parish Registers Denbighshire Parish Registers Flintshire Parish Registers Glamorgan Parish Registers Merionethshire Parish Registers Monmouthshire Parish Registers Montgomeryshire Parish Registers Pembrokeshire Parish Registers Radnorshire Parish Registers Unlike the English PR's, the post-1754 marriages and post-1813 baptisms and burials don't seem to be separated out into their own databases. |
Hmm, I can't see any information about who did the transcriptions for these, but I have come across a mistranscription which was mistranscribed exactly the same way on FMP ("Ann Margaret" where it actually says "Ann his wife") so I am guessing that both sites were provided with the same transcriptions. Probably explains why the standard of transcription seems to be somewhat higher than is usual on Ancestry, at least on the records I have looked at so far!

I can't understand how that happened when 'all' the entries on the page say 'X his wife', or have they transcribed them all with middle name Margaret?!

It must simply be that FMP have lost exclusive rights as I gather that the Genealogist also has the Welsh registers now.

The Caernarvonshire PR's have just been updated. I don't know what has been added or changed.
