There is a Richard Ashton death listed in the Irish Civil Registration indexes on FamilySearch RecordSearch in 1877, Belfast Registration district, age 54.

forgive me for sounding a complete muppet! Where can I find that please? I'm assuming FamilySearch is LDS but can't find RecordSearch.

kiterunner 05-03-10 15:56

It's the new pilot site, Rosie:

crikey mikey, that looks promising. Thanks Kate. I never knew about that site.

Now, is there any way of getting a copy cert? I know FreeBMD don't do NI.

kiterunner 05-03-10 16:05

You have to order it from Ireland - I seem to remember that for pre-1922 Northern Ireland certs you can order from either the Republic or Northern Ireland. I'll see if I can find the details in a few minutes.

Here's the N Ireland GRO link:

and the Republic of Ireland one:

Thank you Kate. I'll order that cert I think.

Do NI certs have the same info asEnglish ones?

kiterunner 05-03-10 19:57

Yes, they do.

Could this be Richard on the 1841 someone has corrected his name.
