Transcription Tool

I have not used this but saw it recommended in a group I am in. It splits the screen so you don't have to flip screens to transcribe documents. I know we have a few transcribers here so thought I'd post it.

Where has this been all my life?!? It looks wonderfully promising, Toni. What I could have done with that program. Now if I could only have another life to live. :(

I never flip screens to do transcriptions! (I'm not saying the above isn't better than what I do though, I've not looked at it yet).

I use the Windows key with the left or right key to put the document and Word (or whatever) side by side. I do the same when adding data to my tree - I usually have my tree program open on the right and various search sites open on the left. I'm absolutely hopeless at remembering data for even a few seconds, so if I had to flip screens it would take me about four flips just to add (say) the details of one registration!

EDIT - I've looked at it now - I see it gives you the division horizontally which is probably better. I do that on my laptop (as the screen isn't really big enough for side by side) just be reshaping the open pages, but I guess this is probably a simpler way to achieve this.

I didn't know about your way Merry so I do flip between screens for anything. I have got to the lack of memory point though that I copy and paste information to my tree. Transcriptions I have to remember.
