Ancestry messaging system
 

Just found this really useful post, which explains why a lot of people aren't getting replies to Ancestry messages.

In a nutshell, if you never sign out of your account, you won't be getting emails. I haven't tried it yet, but the writer says that it works.

Very annoying!

Problem is, if you log out of your account, you could have trouble logging back in, so it is safer to stay logged in. Though I do sometimes find that I have been logged out somehow anyway.

By the way, I've just noticed that tick marks have appeared alongside the names of some people I've messaged.

I assume that means they've read the message, but I haven't found an explanation of the tick anywhere.
