Probably buried in Bexleyheath Cemetery Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable Administration 28 April 1947 to George Henry Mason Memorial inscription - if any Not known We are awaiting the 1921 census with baited breath. We think that Lillian is actually Emily E Searle born Heyshott, Sussex, aged 11 months on the 1881 census, daughter of Oliver, a limeburner and Mary Ann. (the parish registers were stolen, so we don't know what she was baptised as) This family is stil at Heyshott Street in 1891, with 6 younger siblings. Several were born in Graffham, so the family presumably moved out and back again. By 1901 the family has moved to Bepton, with another 5 younger children. Emily is no longer there. Reasoning for this is a photo of Oliver Searle junior in sailor's uniform - ties up with his records on Find My Past - addressed on the back to "Lily" This is on the assumption, of course, that she was his sister, rather than his girlfriend! |
You probably already have this, but Emily E Searle who is 11 months on the 1881 census must be Emily Eliza Searle whose birth was registered Apr-Jun 1880 Midhurst district.
FamilySearch does actually have the baptism - Emily Eliza Serle baptised 11 Jul 1880 at Heyshott, parents Oliver and Maryann. I'm trying to rule her out as the Emily Elizabeth Searle who married an Albert Gent Oct-Dec 1907 East Preston district, but the only likely Albert Gent I can see in 1911 so far has been married to an Alice for 6 years, and their marriage also comes up on FreeBMD. Also East Preston district. |
How did you get that baptism, Kite? I can see three younger children baptised at Graffham, but I cannot get it to show anyone but the "other" Emily, dau of George.

Albert was a sailor. I assume he either died at sea or emigrated - can't see him after 1901.
