Norfolk Record Office Website Updated

Mutter, mutter.

This is great news for anyone with good eyesight and a smart phone.

I am not impressed by yellow typeface, acres of blank space and only four catalogue entries visible on the page.....

However, there is huge flexibility in the new searches, with the entries ranked place, genre etc etc. Once I've got over my grumpy old woman act, I can see there is masses to be impressed by - not least that this has sneaked through before the inevitable future cuts.

i had to enlarge the pages to 150% to be able to read them, the original print is so small. And where to find the records in a simple search?

And don't let me get started about the Advanced Search Page!

I don't know if I have enough patience to see if there are any new records.....

In the description control area (right at the bottom of the expanded search) you get the catalogue date. Norfolk is one of the few places to be continually working on its cataloguing. I've seen one entered 14 Jan 2021, so they are keeping going.

I can see it will be a good thing, but I do wish updates were suitable for use with landscape screens, with nice fat sliders.

Oh, and that the facility to sort by date order worked properly.
