(11) William Aubrey Norris, L/Corpl TF1391 4th Bn, Royal Sussex Regt
 
11th of the Old Boys of St Wilfrid's School, Haywards Heath to lose his life in WW1.

Born in 1894 in Slaugham, Sussex, third of the 9 children of Henry and Jane Norris, William was baptised there on 18 Feb 1894. In 1901 they lived at Frances Cottages, Lindfield (behind the parish church) and in 1911 at “Dunston”, Western Road, Haywards Heath. William was working as an assistant at a dairy.

He died on 10 May 1915 at Suvla Bay, Gallilpoli, just two days after arriving. He has no known grave, but is commemorated on panel 125 of the Helles Memorial. Two of his brothers, also died in the war after him, Eric in 1916 and Ernest in 1918
