There's this household in 1841:

John Cutler 45 Pudler
Hannah Cutler 45
Susannah Cutler 25
Benjmin Cutler 16
Mary Cutler 14
Daniel Cutler 12
Joseph Cutler 10
Ephraim Cutler 8
Esther Cutler 6
Sarah Cutler 6
Jabez Cutler 3

All b in County and living in West Brom. What occ did John have on his dau's marriage cert?

Merry 12-02-11 14:22

That's the same family as you have for the 1851.

BlueSavannah 12-02-11 14:26

Hi Merry. John Cutler's occupation on the marriage cert just said labourer.

Many thanks for the 41 details. It is the family that sticks out as the most likely. I am trying to think why Mary would end up in Elsecar near Barnsley if none of her family came to the area. Maybe someone was in the area and I havnt found them yet

Merry 12-02-11 15:14

I noticed that in 1851 David Adams is boarding with a family called Skidmore who were all b in West Brom, inc their one year old daugher, suggesting this family had only just moved to Hoyland in Yorkshire. Maybe there is some sort of connection between the families, or he was previously with them in West Brom just before 1851?

BlueSavannah 12-02-11 15:29

I had noticed the birth places of the Skidmore family and did wonder if the family were somehow connected to the Cutler family but havnt found a link yet. I will re-look at them.

Ive just realised that David Adams' youngest known sibling was Nathan Adams who was born in 1834 in West Bromwich! The Adams family travelled all over the place with seemingly a child born in each location

By the 1841 census, David Adams is in Liverpool with his father, father's second wife and his 3 siblings.
