The one you have all been waiting for. Accoridning to my late mother-in-law he was known by a diiferent name as a boy but she could not remember what!
Marriage certificate does not name a father but gives mother as Isabella Fraser nee something I can't read.

Anne, can you post up the bit of the marriage certificate giving Isabella's maiden name please, so we can have a go at trying to decipher it? Also, have you found William and Mary Ann on the 1911 Scottish census? And doesn't his marriage certificate and / or son's birth certificate give his occupation? Also, who are the witnesses on the marriage certificate?
