Surely that birth certificate with "Girl" on it is just a mistake on the copy certificate, and the original one will be correct.

Until I saw the image I was assuming it would be the microfilm copy of the GRO entry, but that's modern day handwriting, so as you say Kate, just a modern day mistake.

If I had received that certificate I'd of been on the the RO to get them to double check it!

I once got a copy of a death certificate where the informant looked dodgy and it turned out to be the informant of the entry above the death I'd requested. The RO issued a new cert with the correctly copied details.
