Thomas Richard Reffell, b 1798 Hoxton, wife Johanna. In 1851 the family was

at 17 Bishop's Mews Paddington. Thomas was was a plumber & painter.

Do you have access to Ancestry as there is a tree on there which has Thomas Richard Reffell. They do not have an exact date of death just Q4 1861 Kensington district - GRO gives the age as 65.

In 1861 'Thos Refell, Inmate, widower, age 65, house painter, born Middlesex, Hoxton' is in the Paddington Workhouse.

Thanks so much - I can't tell you how helpful that is. I'm writing an article about

Thomas's brother, a diplomat who died intestate and the acrimonious court case that

followed.

The father accused Thomas & other family members of fraudulent behaviour over the

late brother's estate. I don't have any subs at the moment but the year of death was

really all I needed, so thanks again.
