Edward Randolph died 1861 at Deep Creek, Victoria, Australia

This is the son of my 3x-great-aunt. Apparently he left a will, but I can't view any details.

Could someone please give me the information on the probate entry?

I think you can view it for free on the Victoria PRO site:
https://beta.prov.vic.gov.au/search_...in=WILL_SEARCH

It comes up with several documents for him.

If the above link doesn't work, try this one:

Administration was (eventually) granted to Henry Randolph of Melbourne, his eldest brother.

Thanks! Very useful.

So that's where Henry Adolphus Randolph went! Some of the children of this family disappeared from view, so it's great to have found them.

Could I find any records about Henry Randolph of Melbourne, Kate?
He should actually be about 5 years younger than Edward.

It seems that Henry could be the one who died in 1885 and had a wife called Caroline. Also children called Julia and Stanley Aubyn Randolph.

ElizabethHerts 30-11-19 14:46

Evangeline Julia was born in 1882.
Stanley Aubyn was born in 1886 and died in 1888.

Caroline Sarah Williams married Henry Randolph, probably 1879.

ElizabethHerts 30-11-19 14:48

In 1887 Caroline Sarah Randolph married John Bettles.

Do you mean Henry Stanley Randolph whose death was registered in 1886, Elizabeth? The Victoria BDM site shows his age at death as 32, wife as Caroline Sarah Williams, and parents as H[enr]y [Randolph] and Jane Pollard. He married Caroline in 1879.

There is also a Henry Randolph death in 1858, age 32, parents names John and Eliza. I just mention him in case he could be the father of Henry Stanley.

The newspaper death notice for the Henry who died in 1886, husband of Caroline, gives his age as 32, and says he was the son of the late Captain Henry Randolph of the ship Agamemnon.
