Do you have the 1851 Heather? (Yes, because otherwise you wouldn't know where he was born??!)

Heather P T 20-02-11 17:24

You know Merry, doing this has made me realise how little I do have on this mob. Ive just seen an ancestry tree purporting to have him but with a father shown to be 7 years old when he was born :) So I shant be copying any of that stuff. The kids are shown born chiswick yet they all seem to have been bap in Lambeth which is a bit odd

The 1851 which Ive just pulled out shows him born Chiswick in 1790, Smith

In 1851 the remaining children are George 27 b Clapham, Surrey and Benjamin 25 b Chiswick, Middlesex.

Yes .......My direct ancestor is the daughter, Jane. I see one of the sons is living with a Louisa Ward as a lodger in 1851 - at a wild guess possibly the married sister?

Oh, Im really enjoying this, havent really got down to a search of any of mine for ages now. Pity OH is banging about in the room next door, doing cleaning type stuff which makes me feel guilty :(

Merry 20-02-11 17:40

He's happier doing that without you watching! lol Just look pleased when he has finished - you will be fine!

Heather P T 20-02-11 17:42

Well, he just shouted out "How are you getting on?" namely, how are you getting on doing my b***** letters and quotes ! You remember the old days when I used to have an "alarm system" set up for his unexpected arrivals. Oh, it was so exciting doing my tree then as there was so much available to find and so much to find out :)

Still, this is getting me back into it. Better go and look interested for a little while though. (and put on some make up as son may be calling me on skype soon from Canada :))

Interesting how he married a girl in Suffolk. Wonder what the connection is. Unless perhaps he was a journeyman smith at the time.

Heather P T 20-02-11 21:03

My goodness, Ive found another 4, possibly 5 kids for them now. One being born 1816 in Suffolk.
