Mary Wilson aged 29 and son John aged 10. somewhere in North Wales? Ancestry says Plew but I can't find such a place.

I don't know what that is supposed to say!

Is that right that the baby is not registered - do you know if the parents were married and if yes, what her maiden name was?

kiterunner 01-07-20 08:47

I think this is the family in 1881 - James has a new wife.

John's birthplace in 1881 is Wales Pembroke.

Possibly said Pembroke Dock and the Dock bit was crossed out.

Genuki has a place listed in Pembrokeshire: Plwyv Ty Ddewi (St Davids), a parish.

Possible?

Well done Kate!

Her maiden name won't help much:

WILSON, WILLIAM GEORGE WILLIAMS
GRO Reference: 1872 J Quarter in DOVER Volume 02A Page 847

lol!

As a possible alternative - Plas Newydd? - though that appears to be in Anglesey.

It says NW which I took as North Wales, Pembrokeshire is more mid or south.

Pwllheli is in the North Wales.

Edit

Scrub Dartford

I think John might have been born in Nantwich near the North Wales border perhaps.

Oh for crying out loud no wonder you're having trouble, there is a James Wilson born in Pembroke MMN Williams.

Name:
WILSON, JAMES WILLIAMS
GRO Reference: 1863 D Quarter in PEMBROKE Volume 11A Page 670

Maggie, it looks as though the James Wilson born 1863 died in the same quarter, age is 0 on the online GRO death index.
