Hmm, Pallot's Marriage Index has a Lionel Sillett marrying a Letitia Newman in 1793 and a Lionel Sillett marrying an Elizabeth Spalding in 1807, both at Kelsale. I wonder if it's the same Lionel, and Ann fits in between the two? It says Lionel is a widower on the marriage to Elizabeth.

The NBI has a burial at Kelsale of an Ann Sillett in 1803, aged 35. That fits Kate's theory.

Also at Kelsale

Letitia Sillett buried 1794 aged 36

Elizabeth Sillett buried 1838 aged 59

Lionel Sillett buried 1823 aged 52

Oh poop!!!

I can't get familysearch to let me browse the records.

There's a Lettive Newman & Lionel Sillett marriage in Feb 1793 but it's in Norwich not Kelsale. Maybe the records on Pallot's show the banns that were read in Kelsale?? or maybe it's another couple? btw I'm sure I used to be able to see Pallot's on Ancestry - I can't now though :(

Familysearch says they were both born in 1772 (21 at marriage) which doesn't fit with Letitia dying one year later in 1794 aged 36.

Would familysearch have defaulted the age to 21 if it stated "of full age" ?

That sounds like it might be a marriage licence rather than a parish register entry.

Most of the licences I have say aged 21 years & upwards so if it is a licence & is the same case that explains the born 1772.

BTW I'm not a Janet i'm a John lol :d:d:d

oops!! sorry John :o Isn't it funny? - all this time and I always assumed that JayG was a woman for some reason. I never really thought about it.

So you think they've just transcribed "of full age" as 21, then?
