Emma Jane Jacobs (fffm)

I am assuming that Emma Jacobs was my 2x Great Grandmother, but have no certificates to prove it as Canadian information is notoriously difficult to obtain and I don't have my G Grandfather's birth certificate. On 1881 Canadian census my G Grandfather is listed as 'son' to Mary Kilpatrick, his father's 2nd wife who is only 10 years older than my G Grandfather, but his father is not with them. A family member believes Emma died in childbirth.
