Thanks Marg. I found some census entries I had printed off years back, lol. Ancestry not yet on, will try for the 1841 later.

I though his mother was Elizabeth Bracking, but think that may be his grandmother, so need to check back when I get my access.

ooh as I wrote that I had an email from them, it is done and I have UK premium membership so can search the LMA stuff, fabby!!

Brilliant, shout if you need any help.

There is a marriage for Francis and Eliza on family search. I thought it must be wrong at first but I found them on the 1841 and 1851 and her age is massively wrong on the 1841, so I reckon the marriage is right.
Won't spoil your fun though with Ancestry.
