"Disorderly house"

In 1914, if a woman is said to be "keeping a disorderly house", what does that actually mean??

I thought it meant keeping a brothel, but there are other meanings:

Thanks Merry.

I suspected it might be a brothel ..... or something similar.

The definition sounds like an average university hall of residence...

On some census I have actually seen the term 'Brothel Keeper' for occupation!
