Witness name

Any idea what the full name of the second witness is, please? Deborah and Thompson are clear, but what is her surname?

Narrison.

Thank you. That's what I thought. Can't find her though.

The nearest I can find to that name on Scotland's People is a Deborah Thomson Harrison death in 2001, age 83. Any use?

The marriage was in 1899, so probably not. I'll take note of the Deborah you found, though.

Is the original marriage available anywhere, as opposed to the copy? Mistranscription is the bane of these records.

The pic I posted is from a print out of an image on Scotland's People.

It is interesting that there are 3 Ws and they are quite different, especially the W in Williamson. I would think the name is more likely to be Harrison - comparison with other Ns and Hs might be worth looking at .. but noting the lack of uniformity in the Ws

Presumably the "original" is in the church register (or the register office register). I don't know the Scottish sequence of events but presumably the register which is on SP is the last thing produced.

I thought the images of marriages on Scotland's People were taken from the registers. The couple weren't married in church, but at their home with an officiating minister present.
