She's listed as Morton on both her birth registration and her first marriage, according to the indexes.

Where the heck is she in 1901? I can't find her on Ancestry or FMP

kiterunner 03-07-11 09:49

I had a good look for her last night, Marg, with no luck.

There's a Dorothy Martin aged 18, born N. Ormesby, with Walter and Dorothy Martin in 1901:

Ancestry's transcribed them as her grandparents, but they're too young; the image probably says s-daur, so she's presumably the stepdaughter. The surname's clearly written as Martin, though.

Mary from Italy 03-07-11 12:10

No, sorry, scratch that - I've found that Dorothy with Walter and Dorothy Marten in 1891.

Mary from Italy 03-07-11 12:14

I see Jemina Sarah died in 1890, and Stephen in 1897, so she won't be with her parents in 1901.

Mary from Italy 03-07-11 12:27

What happened to Dorothy's sisters Kate and Amelia? I can't see them in 1891, or a death for them.
