Army records

Sent off for my uncles army records in August and they arrived today.

Really interesting - all I have to do is decipher the abbreviations lol.

It doesn't seem to have one uncle as a POW at a camp near Leipzig just in Italy - but I have his card that shows that he was.

Didn’t you get a list of what the abbreviations mean with it? I did when I got my father in laws.

Thanks Tilly

Yes Margaret in the letter there were web pages to look at for further info etc.

There’s so much written in small boxes have to work out where one set of abbreviations ends and another starts

Those abbreviations sent with service records by no means cover everything!

Having served I know a good number of them already its just the unusual ones I will have to work out. lol
