Is the first date banns? Not sure how far apart banns and the marriage could be.

JayG 19-02-11 19:18

I wondered that Lindsay. I'm not sure of the timespan for the last bann being read to the marriage taking place.

The years are 1791 & 1792, it's not my typo, unless it's a mistake in the index.

Sue, Russ has replied and it is as JayG said: Matthew Broome parish of Cleyhanger to Mary Wyatt, 31 October 1792 and recorded at Bampton. What the first one is that JayG has found at Devon FHS I don't know. I will pm you.

Langley Vale Sue 20-02-11 17:53

Thankyou very much JayG & Julie and Lindsay.

It does seem very early for the other date to be the Banns. 13 months does seem a big gap doesn't it?

tenterfieldjulie 21-02-11 10:54

Sue you will need to change Bryant to Wyatt.

Langley Vale Sue 21-02-11 11:27

Oops, sorry Julie :( I've altered it now.

tenterfieldjulie 21-02-11 23:13

Hi Sue. I'm sure Russ would be happy to hear from you if you want to ask him about the two entries. Sorry you don't have any west county Bryant's in your tree because we could have been related. Now that could be scarey... at least for you lol
