The word "historic" is misused in the title of this petition, so I would find it difficult to support it. It could be taken to mean that only famous / very important registers would be digitised and made publicly available. It would be better if it gave an indication of what the proposed cut-off date would be and made it clear that it means all the registers up to that date.

Maybe a new petition should be drawn up that is worded properly and perhaps makes particular reference to the Lancashire registers which have already been transferred to the Lancashire Archives?

I asked my Dad to sign as I'm not qualified.

As we aren't in the UK we can't contact any MPs.
