James Robins
birth 27 Aug 1802 baptised 21 Sep 1802, St. Sepulchre, City of London Parents: John & Sarah, family address Fleet Lane Mariage to Priscilla Marsden 10 Feb 1822 St. Botolph Bishopsgate James' occupation and address as recorded on the baptisms of children 1823 Angel Street, clerk 1824 Monkwell Street [near Barbican] clerk 1826 - 28 Peerless Row, clerk [1830 Robson's Directory lists Robins, Jas, furniture broker, 30 Old Street 1832 Union Street, Hoxton, broker 1835-1842 Old Street Road, Hoxton, broker 1841 no trace of the family, apart from the elder daughters Jane and Priscilla, who are staying elsewhere. Lots of areas of Finsbury/Old Street are missing. Occupation as listed on children's marriage certs: 1846, 1847, 1851, 1852,1861 paper stainer 1854 servant 1861 paper grainer Censuses 1851 James' wife Priscilla is head of the household, no sign of James elsewhere 1861 Priscilla is still head of household, still no trace of James 1871 Priscilla Robins is recorded as a widow. Have not definitely found James' death. Possible burial: Islington Cemetery, Finchley, North London James Robins of 11 Sidney Street, Islington, aged 68, buried 02 Sep 1868 The age fits, the area isn't unlikely, but not definite.
