Do you have to subscribe to My Heritage, Kate?

I have just found this:
Cost AutoClusters is a premium feature that requires a site subscription on MyHeritage (Premium, PremiumPlus or Complete). Users who upload their raw DNA data from another testing service to MyHeritage and do not wish to purchase a subscription can pay a one-time fee of $29 per kit to unlock all advanced DNA features offered by MyHeritage, including AutoClusters. Learn more about our subscription plans here. The AutoClusters feature works best if you test additional family members. For example, if you test your parent’s cousin, the cluster that he or she will appear in will implicate all the other DNA Matches in that cluster as being from the same branch of the family. If you have family members who have not yet taken a DNA test, especially elderly ones, this is a great time to expand your capacity to make new family history discoveries through MyHeritage DNA. Order more DNA kits today. |

It seems to be free for people like me who uploaded our DNA data from another site before a certain date (think it was around November or December last year).

I had to pay I think it was £34.80 (incl VAT) to unlock the tools on MyHeritage as a recent uploader. That said, their ethnicity estimate for me is I would say well off, no English at all .... So far not been that impressed but only time will tell. I suspect its more the luck of who you match and whether they have a tree with anything useful on it. So many are single figure numbers that are of no use. Then again mine's only got me on it and I've no intention of expanding so can't really complain too much.

I used to have a big tree on there, as I had bought some software ages ago called Family Tree Legends, but they recently said that it had expired and that I now have a maximum tree size of 250 people or I have to pay a full monthly sub for My Heritage if I want to have a big tree. No option of paying for tree hosting only. So I deleted my tree and replaced it with a skeleton one, direct ancestors only, and only going back as far as 5xg-grandparents. I expect there are other people who would put their full tree on there if they could.
I haven't received the AutoClusters report yet, still waiting, but I won't be surprised if it is all people who share common Jewish DNA with me and aren't actually closely related to me or to each other. (Strange that My Heritage is much worse with Jewish DNA matching than ancestry, although My Heritage is an Israeli company.) |

I'm thinking of doing something similar, but I want to delete the notes first, and I can't find a way to do it in FTM, although it was easy with PAF. Does anyone know how to do it?

I wonder how long the AutoClusters email will take to arrive.

At last it has arrived, but as I thought, nearly all the clusters (14 out of 16) are Jewish and probably not very closely related to me (or to each other). Glad I didn't pay for it. Will probably be more useful if you don't have any Jewish DNA!
